The Role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Plant Operator / Maintainer to join our team in Yarraville on a 7 day rotating roster (7 Days, 7 Off, 7 Nights. 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am).
Working within a small team environment, you'll play a key role in keeping the plant operating safely and efficiently across a 24/7 continuous operation. This multi-skilled, hands-on role combines control room operations, front end loader work, plant monitoring, preventative maintenance and basic laboratory testing.
Responsibilities include:
* Operating and monitoring the slag mill via SCADA control systems
* Conducting routine plant inspections and identifying maintenance issues
* Completing preventative, shutdown and breakdown maintenance tasks
* Front end loader operation feeding raw materials into the reclaim system
* Assisting with dispatch, weighbridge and silo management activities
* Performing product quality testing and sample checks
* Coordinating with truck drivers and central dispatch teams
* Maintaining housekeeping and safety standards across site
* Supporting confined space, hot works and maintenance shutdown activities as required
What we're looking for:

You will ideally have:
* Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker or similar industrial trade
* Experience within manufacturing, processing, cement, mining, quarry, steel or heavy industry environments
* Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability
* Exposure to preventative and breakdown maintenance activities
* Good computer literacy and ability to learn SCADA systems
* Commitment to safety and working within high-risk industrial environments
* Ability to work rotating day/night shift rosters
Highly regarded:
* Front end loader experience or ticket (training will be provided)
* Confined space, working at heights or hot work tickets
* Experience working within continuous shift operations
* Cement, milling or bulk materials handling experience
