About the Role:
Solmech is currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team on the Maryvale Solar Farm. This role involves operating an excavator fitted with a drill mast (auger) to pre-drill holes in difficult ground conditions, allowing for the installation of steel piles into concrete-filled shafts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate an excavator fitted with a mast and auger to pre-drill foundation holes
- Drill to specified depths and diameters, following engineering specs
- Assist with cement filling of holes before piling installation
- Perform pre-starts, record daily production, and report any issues
- Collaborate with supervisors, batching teams, and piling operators to ensure workflow continuity
- Maintain safe, clean, and efficient work practices at all times
What You’ll Need:
- Experience operating excavators in a civil or solar setting
- Exposure to auger drilling or ground prep preferred
- Current RII Excavator ticket and White Card (HR Licence a bonus)
- Confidence working in variable ground conditions
- Availability to commence in August this year
- Strong teamwork ethic and commitment to safety and quality
