Position Description
East Preston Islamic College (EPIC) is a K–12, independent, co-educational school located in Melbourne's inner north. A full-time position is available in ********* for a Secondary Teacher with the ability to teach Visual Arts across Years 7-12, including VCE Art or Visual Communication Design. Remuneration will be in accordance with the East Preston Islamic College Teaching Salary Scale (aligned with the Victorian Government Teacher Pay Scale).

Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and creative Visual Arts lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCE Study Designs.
Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages artistic expression, critical thinking, and aesthetic appreciation.
Guide students in developing practical art-making skills across various media and techniques.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment tools.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to enhance student achievement and artistic growth.
Use differentiated teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Integrate digital technologies and contemporary art practices into teaching and learning.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, exhibitions, and cross-curricular initiatives.
Contribute to the organisation and presentation of art displays, showcases, and community events.
Engage in the College's pastoral care and wellbeing programmes.
Participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities related to the Arts.
Commit to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
Undertake other duties as directed by the Vice Principal or Principal.
Position Requirements
Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
Tertiary qualifications in Education with a specialisation in Visual Arts or related fields.
Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and VCE Art or Visual Communication Design study designs.
Demonstrated experience teaching secondary and/or VCE Visual Arts preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
Proven ability to inspire creativity and motivate students to achieve their artistic potential.
Commitment to collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Willingness to contribute to the wider life and ethos of the College.
