Role Description
This on-site Cleaner role is based in Newcastle NSW or Sydney. The Cleaner will be responsible for performing daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces in commercial and residential environments. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms and common areas, emptying trash, maintaining cleaning equipment, and replenishing supplies. The Cleaner will follow health, safety, and hygiene standards, adhere to company procedures, and use appropriate cleaning products and tools. The role also involves reporting maintenance issues, supporting mould remediation teams as needed (e.g., preparing and tidying work areas), and ensuring spaces are left clean, safe, and presentable.
Qualifications
* Ability to perform core cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface sanitization to a high standard.
* Understanding of basic hygiene and safety practices, including safe handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management to complete assigned tasks within set schedules.
* Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and move equipment or supplies as required throughout a shift.
* Willingness to follow instructions, standard operating procedures, and checklists consistently.
* Basic communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, team members, and clients when needed.
* Prior experience in commercial or residential cleaning, facilities maintenance, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
* Openness to learning about mould-safe cleaning practices and supporting specialised remediation work under guidance.
* Ability to work on-site in Bela Vista, MS, with a dependable attendance record.
