Job Description

The Assistant Director, Procurements and Contracts role plays a pivotal part in a major transformation program aimed at establishing whole-of-government ICT capability to support the ACT Government.

This key position reports directly to the Director, Commercial and Program Finance. The primary responsibilities include developing procurement documentation, managing procurement activities, and overseeing contract management tasks with existing contracts.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for managing the entire end-to-end procurement process, encompassing evaluations, reviews, timeframes, stakeholder engagement, and other crucial aspects:

* Conduct assurance reviews and provide detailed reporting for procurement activities.
* Develop RFx documentation, conduct thorough evaluations, and negotiate contracts that demonstrate exceptional value for money.
* Offer first-line probity advice to ensure ethical behavior during procurement processes.
* Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Procurement ACT, and relevant business areas.
* Promote and apply the ACT Government procurement framework, incorporating relevant legislation, policies, and procedures as necessary.
* Provide first-line probity advice to ensure ethical behavior is upheld throughout the procurement process.
* Undertake miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Director, Commercial and Program Finance.


Contract Management

This Role Assists In Managing The Existing Contracts, Including

* Collaborate closely with the Director, Commercial and Program Finance on contract management-related matters.
* maintain relevant contract management registers.
* document minutes and relevant contract notes for contextual reference purposes.
* Undertake ad hoc tasks as directed by the Director, Commercial and Program Finance.


Eligibility/Other Requirements

* A current ACT Government CMTEDD issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
* This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
* Driver's license class C is not essential.
* This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
* This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.
* The position is based in the ACT.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home and designated office-based.
