Firefighter Role
The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services aim to protect people and property across Queensland through prevention, preparation, response and recovery activities in a range of emergency situations.
Purpose of the Position
This role is unique as it involves delivering high quality fire, rescue, emergency and disaster management services through a single agency.
* Mandatory Skills: Employer's consent to attend emergencies (where applicable), Living or working within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station, Australian Permanent Resident Status, Manual C Class driver's license.
* Expectations:
o Attend 50% of emergency calls as a day worker with routine hours; or 30% of calls as a shift worker with non-routine hours.
o Participate in 75% of regular drills and training sessions.
o Obtain an MRV license at personal expense within 12 months.
o Contribute to ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid/emergency care.
Responsibilities include responding to fire and emergency incidents, promoting community safety and preparedness by contributing to educational activities, and developing competencies through regular drills and training courses provided by the QFES.
