About the role
We are seeking a curious and motivated Policy Analyst to join our talented Policy, Government Relations and International Affairs team. We would welcome interest from experienced policy analysts or newly qualified graduates, with a strong interest in science and STEM-related issues. Supporting a range of projects, the role collaborates across the team and with our Fellowship undertaking desktop research. The role requires an inquisitive mind and highly refined writing skills to produce timely quality reports and submissions, working both independently and collaboratively to support ATSE’s policy work. Understanding of evidence-based policy development and an interest in the political landscape and economics to analyse and form insightful commentary is highly desirable.
Experience and Skills for Success
* Experienced or graduate near completion of tertiary studies
* Policy analyst experience or relevant exposure to demonstrate transferable skills to undertake the role
* Experience working in a busy environment with the ability to juggle competing priorities
* Strong research and writing skills
* Project management skills to juggle workload to meet deadlines
* Proficiency across Microsoft Office and/or Salesforce
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Ability to build relationships across the organisation and externally
* Demonstrates a collaborative approach, exhibiting drive and initiative to find solutions
* Willingness to participate as a flexible team member and undertake a range of tasks
* Strong alignment with our values, as they underpin all that we do, how we behave and how we engage with others
