Job Title: Drilling and Blast Expert
This is a challenging role that requires expertise in generating, scheduling and implementing short-term drilling, blasting and ancillary mine plans to achieve operational goals safely and cost-effectively.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting underground production areas, liaising with survey and geology departments when generating production plans and providing technical support to underground supervisors and crew members.
This hands-on role involves daily and weekly data management for reporting purposes, blast vibration monitoring and notifications, and having technical input into large-scale production plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement drilling and blasting strategies to optimize mine production
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate production plans and ensure safe execution
* Monitor and report on drilling and blasting performance metrics
* Provide technical support to underground supervisors and crew members
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
* Advanced level of Microsoft Excel and Word skills
* Experience in mine design software, preferably Deswik
* Underground Supervisors Certificate of competency (or ability to attain)
* Dangerous Goods Security Card (or proof of application)
* C Class Drivers Licence
