About the Role
You will be a core member of our Environment and Planning group, taking a leading role in the delivery of statutory and strategic planning services across our key markets – energy, water, government, aviation, transport and resources. You will manage large-scale, multidisciplinary projects from inception through to approval, bringing together technical expertise from across the business to deliver integrated planning outcomes for our clients.
What You'll Do
* Lead project delivery – manage the end‐to‐end delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure and precinct‐scale projects across statutory planning, regulatory approvals, strategic planning, feasibility and environmental assessment.
* Drive business development – support the identification and pursuit of new opportunities, lead and contribute to winning new work and strengthen our presence across all markets.
* Build our planning capability – contribute to the growth and development of the planning team, including mentoring junior planners and supporting the expansion of our statutory and strategic planning offering.
* Advise clients with confidence – guide public and private clients through complex legislative requirements, approval pathways and planning strategies, building trusted relationships across the project lifecycle.
* Connect the business – draw on the breadth of Aurecon's technical expertise to deliver genuinely integrated, multidisciplinary planning advice that goes beyond traditional planning consulting.
What You'll Bring
* Experience in urban, environmental or infrastructure planning, with demonstrated leadership in statutory and strategic planning contexts.
* Proven project leadership across large‐scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects – you have led teams, managed client relationships and delivered results on complex projects.
* Business development experience – you have contributed to winning work and building client relationships.
* Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks – you understand how planning and environmental legislation applies to major infrastructure projects and can navigate approval pathways with confidence and credibility.
* Exceptional communication and influencing skills – you can engage and advise at a senior level and bring internal and external stakeholders along on complex technical and strategic challenges.
* A commitment to developing others – you actively support junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high‐performing team culture.
* A Bachelor's degree or higher in urban planning, environmental planning, or a related discipline.
