About the Role - As a Specialist Projects / Project Manager, you will report to the Lead Projects and leverage your leadership and technical skills to plan, manage, and execute assigned projects and engineering work requests on-site. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and manage engineering contractors to achieve optimal results for the business.
Responsibilities -
1. Project manage the planning, safe execution, and commissioning of approved modifications and small projects
2. Lead and manage other owners’ team contractors to deliver the multi-discipline annual capital program in accordance with the project framework
3. Execute design, specification, costing, scoping, and evaluation report works required for plant/equipment modifications and infrastructure projects
4. Engage with all departments, including key stakeholders, suppliers, vendors, and contractors
5. Implement safety, productivity, and cost initiatives across the site
6. Lead construction and commissioning activities for projects and manage relevant risks
7. Ensure safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability throughout the design lifecycle process
Required Skills -
1. Background in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering with reasonable knowledge of other disciplines
2. Strong people management skills with experience leading workgroups and contractors
3. Experience in project development and front-end loading
4. Developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate plans clearly
5. Strong communication, people, and leadership skills
6. Sound technical competency in engineering, ideally in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical disciplines
7. Conscientious and results-driven
8. Resilient and able to work autonomously
9. Ability to work in a QLD Coal Mine (S11, medical)
10. QLD Coal Supervisor course (S1, S2, S3)
11. Experience within Coal/Chemical Plants
