Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the successful delivery of projects from conception to completion.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Support project managers in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective project execution.
2. Collaborate with design, procurement, and construction teams to guarantee deliverables align with project milestones, fostering open communication and cross-functional collaboration.
3. Monitor progress against schedule, identifying potential delays early on, and taking proactive measures to mitigate their impact.
4. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure accuracy and compliance, maintaining the highest quality standards.
5. Liaise with design engineers, architects, and consultants to resolve technical issues, providing expert guidance and support.
6. Contribute value-engineering suggestions to improve efficiency and reduce costs, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
7. Prepare material take-offs and assist in creating procurement schedules, streamlining processes and enhancing productivity.
8. Review vendor/subcontractor quotes and recommend selections based on technical and commercial evaluation, ensuring optimal value for money.
9. Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid site delays, maintaining a smooth workflow.
10. Work closely with site supervisors and contractors to ensure execution matches approved drawings/specifications, promoting a culture of quality and excellence.
11. Inspect work, perform quality checks, and document compliance, verifying that all work meets rigorous standards.
12. Identify and report defects or non-conformance issues and follow through on corrective actions, driving continuous improvement.
13. Ensure work complies with safety regulations, permits, and environmental requirements, prioritizing employee well-being and sustainability.
14. Participate in toolbox talks and safety audits, fostering a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.
15. Maintain up-to-date project documentation (drawings, RFIs, change requests, inspection records), facilitating seamless project management.
16. Prepare progress reports, status updates, and cost tracking for project stakeholders, keeping them informed and engaged.
17. Act as a bridge between design office, site team, subcontractors, and client representatives, building strong relationships and trust.
18. Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager promptly, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
19. Assess impact of design or scope changes on cost and schedule, advising on mitigation strategies and opportunities.
20. Support preparation of variation claims and change orders, streamlining financial management and reducing risk.
