Monash Health National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Program supports people who have a disability, to help them in their daily life, participate in the community and reach their personal goals. The NDIS program comprises of support coordination, allied health services for both children and Adults. The NDIS Team operates out of several Monash Health Community sites including Springvale, Cranbourne, Pakenham, within participants homes as well as providing supports within community facilities.
**A Day in the Life**:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 2 Dietitian to join our Monash Health Community NDIS program, working with individuals under the age of 18 years.
The NDIS Dietitian is responsible for delivering a high quality of NDIS services to our participants in an efficient, effective, and flexible manner, as well as supporting them to access the full benefits of their NDIS Plan to build independence and skills. This will be achieved by:
- Providing dietetic supports to participants' that will enable them to build their independence, skills, and community participation
- Ensuring the implementation of the participant's plans in line with the achievement of their goals, objectives and aspirations
- Committing to working collaboratively and continuously building knowledge about the NDIS for the benefit of the participant and the community.
**What you will Bring**:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated productivity including initiative, good problem-solving skills, judgement and attention to detail
- Enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively
**What you need**:
- An approved undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a Dietetics Australia (DA) accredited course or an approved Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent qualification) followed by a postgraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a DA accredited course or The DSR dietetics examination for overseas trained dietitians, administered by DA.
- Membership to Dietitians Australia and Accredited practicing Dietitian (APD)
- Demonstrated experience working with infants, young children, teenagers and their families including those with feeding difficulties and restricted diets
- Demonstrated experience working with children who have a developmental delay or disability and an understanding of how disability can impact a person's life in the community
