Occupational Health, Safety and Training Coordinator
FMR Investments is a privately owned company specialising in the mining and mining-related sectors, with a strong emphasis on residential and community-based operations. We support permanent, full-time employment based locally in the Goldfields region of Western Australia (no FIFO).
Position Summary
Employment Type: Permanent full-time
Location: Based at Gordon Sirdar Gold Mine, approximately 55km north-east of Kalgoorlie (NO FIFO)
Roster Hours: 8-hour shifts on a 5:2 roster (42-hour week)
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and monitor safety and training systems.
* Conduct regular inspections, audits, and investigations.
* Coordinate and deliver training programs.
* Maintain training records and compliance reporting.
* Support site managers with safety initiatives and rehabilitation/return-to-work processes.
* Promote hazard reporting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
* Provide input into pre-start and safety meetings.
* Conduct drug and alcohol testing as required.
* Assist in risk management and incident investigation processes.
* Be flexible and willing to undertake additional tasks as directed.
* Maintain high personal standards of safety, performance, and teamwork.
* Work to achieve site safety and training objectives in line with operational plans.
Experience and Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' experience in health, safety, and training roles in industrial or mining environments.
* Experience in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
* Emergency Response Training
* Previous experience in gold mining operations.
* Certificate IV or above in Workplace Health and Safety.
* Strong knowledge of safety legislation and regulations.
* Training and Assessment qualification (Cert IV TAE).
* ICAM investigation training.
