About The Role
The Senior Tax Accountant will report directly to the Tax Business Partner and will be managing the indirect tax compliance and reporting requirements for BOQ Group which includes the preparation of the monthly GST return for Australia and ongoing compliance with our regulatory and tax risk management framework. You will contribute to ongoing enhancement activities and continuous improvement initiatives and executing a range of business lines initiatives, such as the application of tax law changes.
To be success in this role you have an outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with exceptional attention to detail and the delivery of high-quality output. You have superb stakeholder relationships in place and you like working within a team environment. What sets you apart is your excellent communications style where you are communicating tax issues in an understandable manner to your audience.
About You
You will bring proven experience in a tax or accounting role, ideally gained within a medium to large chartered accounting firm or a large commercial organisation. Experience within the Australian financial services sector is highly desirable. You possess a strong understanding of corporate tax reporting requirements, including GST, fringe benefits tax, and payroll tax. Your ability to produce accurate work and deliver reliable results under tight deadlines is complemented by your excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
With strong problem-solving capabilities and a keen eye for identifying risk, you are highly numerate and detail-oriented, backed by exceptional analytical skills. You are data-driven and adept at extracting and communicating key insights to support decision-making. Academically, you hold a tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce and are a member of a recognised professional Accounting and/or Tax association.
