Water Quality Specialist Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Water Quality Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategies, standards, and protocols aimed at achieving Operations & Maintenance Planning's goals.
The role will involve identifying water quality risks and developing appropriate controls to manage those risks when assets are renewed, replaced or modified to ensure compliance prior to acceptance.
Additionally, the role will be responsible for developing water quality management plans that support major works that impact the operation of the network.
The successful candidate will have a relevant degree qualification in a science, microbiology, or chemistry discipline or equivalent.
Experience or qualifications in risk management planning would be highly regarded.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience relating to the management of water quality in water utility or related context.
Demonstrated knowledge of state and national legislation and guidelines relevant to water quality assessment and compliance is essential.
The role also requires demonstrated knowledge of water network operations and maintenance activities.
Experience with standard Microsoft products is necessary.
A strong ability to manage several tasks concurrently and deal with issues in a responsible and constructive manner is required.
Effective stakeholder management skills and well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
The Water Quality Specialist will be accountable for ensuring the safe and efficient supply of water services to our customers through the operation and maintenance of our water, wastewater and resource recovery infrastructure.
Reporting directly to the Network Configuration Leader, the successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders internally and externally to realise optimisation activities.
Success in this role will be measured by delivering high-quality outcomes that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
