About the opportunity:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Packaging Development Material Technologist to join our Product & Brand – Strategic development team at LaunchPad.

Based in Brompton, SA and reporting to the Strategic Technical Development Manager, you will future proof the organisation by adapting to changing market conditions and legislation.

In this critical role, you will identify emerging products and technologies to drive innovation.

This is a unique opportunity to collaborate on the co‐development of sustainable products, pioneering initiatives that have never been done before.

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

* Collaborate with suppliers to explore materials, technologies and capabilities for potential business applications.
* Investigate relevant standards for legislative and customer requirements.
* Support external testing, validation & certification of sustainability and compliance claims.
* Support the NPD (New Product Development) and design teams in executing key projects.
* Partner with suppliers, startups, and universities to explore new opportunities.
* Collaborate with lab technicians and the R&D Manager to develop or refine testing methods focused on recycling and sustainability.

What you'll need:

* A degree qualification in science, engineering or similar.
* Experience in similar role ideally in foodservice or packaging industry.
* The ability to solve problems and navigate challenging situations.
* A proactive approach and the ability to think outside of the box.
* Resilience and the ability to work in a fast‐paced environment.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive and high‐performing team.
