Associate / Senior Associate - Insurance month contract - NSW/ACT
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced insurance lawyer to join its busy and growing General Insurance practice for a contract term of 6-12 months with potential to move to a permanent position. This role focuses on defendant insurance, providing the opportunity to work with some of Australia's most recognised insurers.
The team is highly regarded team and known for its approachability, strong client relationships, and commitment to mentoring and supporting junior lawyers. The role reports directly to a Principal Lawyer within a collaborative, high-performing group that handles matters across CTP, motor vehicle injury, and general insurance, as well as some government work.
* Support their portfolio of insurance matters, including CTP and motor vehicle accident claims, from instruction to resolution.
* Provide strategic advice to insurer clients on liability, quantum, indemnity, and recovery issues.
* Draft and settle advices, pleadings, correspondence, and settlement documents.
* Appear at mediations and court events where required, and brief counsel for hearings.
* Liaise with insurer clients, claims managers, and other stakeholders to deliver timely, practical recommendations.
* Work closely with senior lawyers and partners on complex or high-value matters.
* Support client relationship management by attending meetings and assisting with client training or presentations.
About you
We are looking for a 6+PAE Lawyer with experience in insurance litigation, CTP, or related defendant/plaintiff personal injury work. Additionally, you will have:
* Strong written advice and client communication skills
* A proactive mindset and ability to manage a busy caseload
* The desire to be part of a collaborative, high-performing national team
