About Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service.
Established in 1992, we're committed to providing quality services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yol?u powered community health and wellbeing.
Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary and public health for over 6,000 residents of this remote landscape.
With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, and a Corporate Office in Darwin, our delivery is focussed on 7 health centres across East Arnhem Land and dedicated outreach teams who travel to additional locations.
Essential Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, along with insight into the unique challenges faced by Yolngu people living in remote settings.
Candidates must be registered, or eligible for registration, with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
A minimum of five years' experience in the field is required, including at least two years working in a remote setting.
A sound knowledge of health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as experience in delivering culturally appropriate primary health care services.
