7R Logistics is a well-established and highly respected milk transport business with a local depot based in Virginia SA. The fleet are all modern NHVR accredited European prime movers that provide high standards of comfort and safety to our drivers. Our trailers are custom-built with a variety of systems (air, hydraulics, electrics) and some really cool electronics too.
The role
We are currently looking for an experienced heavy vehicle mechanic with specialist skills in trailers and hydraulics to maintain our fleet of tankers. With a commitment to quality in customer service, safety and professionalism, this is an important and valued role within the team.
The workshop is well equipped and along with servicing, maintenance and repairs, the variety of air, electrical and hydraulic systems on the trailers means there is plenty to keep you challenged and busy every day.
Standard hours are 4 days a week, 10 hours per day, but if you prefer a 5-day roster that's OK too. You will be on call out-of-hours, but call-outs should be infrequent.
You
You'll need evidence of:
* Mechanical experience (minimum 3 years) specializing in heavy vehicles and trailers
* A proven ability to plan, prioritize, track and manage your own time & work, as well as troubleshoot the unexpected.
* Good personal behaviours, including discipline, hygiene and communication
* Past performance to a highly professional standard.
* A truck driving license (HR or above) and safe driving record.
* Formal qualification as a heavy vehicle mechanic, with other relevant certifications and records of skills updates looked upon favourably too.
The primary focus is on the trailers, air, hydraulics, brakes, electrics and some pretty cool systems, so you'll need to show that you have expertise in this area. Welding skills are also highly valued.

A generous pay rate recognises your skill and experience, and there is flexibility around whether you prefer to typically work 4 or 5 days a week. If you want to work more often and hold (or are willing to upgrade to) an MC or HC license, you should be able to pick up some driving shifts too.
