Senior Electrical and Automation Systems Lead
The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer responsible for leading technical solutions, guiding project teams, and delivering high-quality electrical and automation systems that drive efficiency, safety, and reliability. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and multi-discipline engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and deliver industrial electrical and automation systems from concept through to commissioning.
* Prepare complete electrical drawing sets using AutoCAD Electrical, ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
* Lead complex installations, ensuring safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
* Collaborate with clients to scope, design, and implement tailored solutions.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to electricians, apprentices, and junior engineers.
* Program control systems to IEC 61131-3 standards, ensuring consistent and reliable code across projects.
* Configure and integrate SCADA systems for industrial applications.
* Ensure all projects meet AS/NZS standards, OH&S requirements, and site-specific protocols.
Requirements:
* Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering degree (or equivalent senior-level experience in electrical or controls engineering).
* 5+ years of industrial experience (food & beverage, manufacturing, or heavy process industries preferred).
* Strong Siemens experience in PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
* Proficient with IEC 61131-3 programming standards and structured programming methodologies.
* Experience with SCADA systems configuration and integration.
* High competency in preparing full electrical design packages (schematics, layouts, documentation).
* Strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and multi-discipline engineering.
* Ability to manage multiple projects from design to delivery, coordinating teams and stakeholders effectively.
