Avoca Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Hours of work are 7am to 3:06pm Monday to Friday (38 hours per week with additional overtime available on occasions).
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up, program and operate CNC machines including milling machines, mill turn lathes and wire cutting machines to manufacture high precision parts
* Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments
* Maintain machines and ensure a clean and safe workspace
* Work both independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines
About You:
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist
* Strong understanding of machining processes and materials
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Good problem-solving skills
* Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Desirable (but not essential):
* Trade qualification in Engineering or Machining
* Experience with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software
* Forklift licence is preferred
