The Allied Health Clinician (Speech Pathologist) position sits within the School Readiness Allied Health team, providing paediatric allied health capacity-building support to early childhood education and care services. The School Readiness Allied Health Program is funded by the Department of Education and aims to support kindergarten educators and the families in their centres, to build their capacity to assist young children's learning in the areas of wellbeing, communication and access/inclusion.
* Purposefully engage kindergarten educators to identify and support the skill development of children as they prepare for school.
* Provide secondary consultation to kindergartens in the format of coaching across a range of platforms.
* Undertake discipline-specific tasks such as the provision of information in relation to expressive, receptive and pragmatic language development, speech sound development, engagement in book sharing and early literacy activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively with other disciplines within the team to provide a high quality multi-disciplinary service.
* Effectively manage a caseload through organisation of appointments, handover of services for discipline-specific support and/or joint delivery of sessions.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to maximise service coordination and cooperation.
This role requires a Speech Pathologist who has experience working in paediatric allied health, preferably in kindergarten settings. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a team to develop and implement evidence-based programs that meet the goals and desired outcomes for children, families and educators.
