This role focuses on developing comprehensive educational materials for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses aligned with the Kenyan curriculum. The position requires experienced writers and instructional designers to create both a Student Textbook and a Teacher’s Guide across a range of technical and business subjects, such as Electrical Installation Technology, Welding Technology, ICT, and Business Management. The successful candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy, clarity, and alignment with learning objectives. The project is fast-paced, with a three-week completion timeline, and demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Deliverables
- Develop a Student Textbook (200–300 pages) and a Teacher’s Guide (100–150 pages) for assigned TVET subjects.
- Structure content to include clear learning objectives, engaging activities, and relevant assessments.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to ensure curriculum alignment and content accuracy.
- Edit and proofread materials to maintain high standards of English language and instructional clarity.
- Meet all project deadlines and participate in regular progress meetings.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in educational writing or instructional design, preferably within the Kenyan TVET sector.
- In-depth knowledge of Kenya’s TVET curriculum and subject matter expertise in technical or business fields.
- Exceptional English writing, editing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to structure educational content for clarity, engagement, and measurable learning outcomes.
- Strong collaboration skills and capacity to work under tight deadlines.
- Availability to commit to a three-week project timeline.
