Administration Trainee
12-month Fixed-Term Full-time (8.00 am pm, Monday to Friday)
Commencing 12 January December 2026
Position Summary
The Administration Trainee provides general support to the School's administration team, undertaking a nationally
recognised Certificate II or III in Business Administration, developing practical administrative and customer service
skills in an educational environment under the guidance of the Business Manager, demonstrating a positive
attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to the School's Anglican ethos and child protection policies.
Selection Criteria
SC1 Commitment to Learning and Developing Administrative Skills: Demonstrated willingness to learn and
apply new knowledge while undertaking a Certificate II or III in Business Administration. Ability to follow
guidance, take initiative when appropriate, and develop practical skills in office practices, customer service,
and administrative support within a school environment.
SC2 Communication, Organisation, and Professionalism: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a
positive, approachable, and professional manner. Ability to manage tasks with attention to detail, maintain
confidentiality, and contribute effectively to a team while providing courteous and reliable support as the
first point of contact for staff, students, parents, and visitors.

Administration Trainee
Position Summary
The Administration Trainee provides general support across the School's Administration team while undertaking a
nationally recognised Certificate II or III in Business Administration. Under the guidance of the Business Manager
and working alongside a supportive team, the trainee will develop practical administrative skills and contribute to the
efficient and professional operation of the School's front office.
This role is designed to support a learning journey, with on-the-job experience complementing formal training. The
Administration Trainee is expected to demonstrate a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to
developing core office and customer service skills in an educational environment. All staff at the School are
required to support the Anglican ethos and demonstrate a commitment to the safety and well-being of children and
young people in line with child protection legislation and School policies.
Key Responsibilities
General
* Provide professional, friendly, and courteous assistance as the School's first point of contact
* Manage initial phone and in-person enquiries from members of the community, staff, students and/or
parents
* Perform general reception duties and refer enquiries to the appropriate team member or department
* Assist with photocopying, filing, scanning, and other routine administrative tasks
* Support the administration team with the day-to-day operations of the School office
* Reconcile and record cash receipts at the end of each day under supervision.
Office Operations
* Conduct internal and external errands as required (e.g., post office runs, bank drops)
* Assist with incoming deliveries and mail processing
* Maintain tidiness in shared office areas, including the administration kitchen and workstations
* Monitor and order office, stationery, and kitchen supplies as needed.
Traineeship Participation
* Actively work towards completing a Certificate II or III in Business Administration during the traineeship
period
* Apply knowledge and skills gained through formal training to workplace tasks and activities
* Participate in regular monitoring, feedback, and development sessions as part of the training plan.
Relationship Management and Additional Support
* Build and maintain strong relationships with staff across all areas of the School, including the Senior
Leadership Team
* Actively participate in projects where requested, contributing meaningfully to team discussions and
meetings
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the key personnel supporting the
Executive's initiatives
* Welcome and assist visitors and guests on behalf of the Business Manager and the wider administrative
team as required, ensuring a professional and warm reception.
Knowledge and Experience
* Basic understanding of office practices and computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace)
* Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
* Previous customer service or administrative experience (desirable but not required).

Education / Professional Qualifications
Essential
* Enrolment in a Certificate II or III in Business Administration
* Current Working with Children Check 'Blue Card' or exemption notice
* Completion of Year 12
Desirable
* Current First Aid, CPR certificate
