Driven by our expansion and operational optimization goals, we are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager to lead the daily operations and commercial success of one of our key retail fuel stores.

The Role

This is a pivotal frontline management role overseeing the full performance and day-to-day running of one of our multiple SRK Petrol Australia retail fuel stores. The Retail Manager will take full accountability for organizing, controlling, and leading all store operations, driving fuel and non-fuel product sales, managing the store team, controlling inventory, and implementing targeted strategies to uphold operational excellence and maximize profitability. This role operates with clear autonomy, focusing on frontline store performance and is critical to the overall success of our multiple stores retail network.

Key Responsibilities

* Store Management & Operational Control
o Organize and control the overall daily operations of the assigned fuel retail store, covering fuel dispensing services, convenience store sales, and on-site customer service workflows.
o Develop and implement local sales and marketing initiatives to drive customer foot traffic, boost fuel sales volume, and increase revenue from non-fuel convenience and automotive products.
o Analyze daily, weekly and monthly sales figures, forecast future sales trends, and provide data-backed insights to support business planning across our multiple stores network.
o Ensure seamless daily store operations, including standardized opening and closing procedures, shift coordination, and consistent service delivery aligned with company-wide standards.
* Financial Management & Budgeting
o Manage the store's operational budget, control day-to-day operational costs such as utilities, staffing and inventory expenses, and drive maximum profitability for the individual store.
o Take full responsibility for the store's financial performance, track revenue and costs, and prepare regular financial reports directly to the General Manager.
o Establish and monitor store-level pricing strategies for fuel and non-fuel products in line with company guidelines and local market conditions.
* Staff Management & Leadership
o Lead, recruit, train, and supervise the retail sales and service team at the assigned store, including fuel attendants and convenience store assistants.
o Develop and manage staff rosters, allocate daily duties, and ensure optimal staffing coverage to meet peak customer demand.
o Manage staff performance, conduct regular performance appraisals, provide coaching and feedback, and foster a high-performance, customer-focused team culture.
* Product & Inventory Management
o Oversee stock selection and maintain optimal inventory levels for non-fuel products (convenience goods, automotive supplies, daily necessities) to match local customer demand.
o Manage end-to-end inventory control processes, including product ordering, regular stocktakes, and implementing measures to minimize stock loss and shrinkage.
o Maintain high standards of visual merchandising for the convenience store, ensuring product displays are tidy, attractive and consistent with our brand's store-wide standards.
o Coordinate with suppliers to monitor fuel stock levels and guarantee uninterrupted fuel supply for the store.
* Customer Service Standards & Compliance
o Oversee and ensure the entire team delivers premium, efficient customer service for both fuel and retail transactions.
o Resolve escalated complex customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
o Ensure full compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety (OH&S) regulations, fuel industry safety protocols, and all local legal requirements across the store.

Qualifications and Skills

* Proven at least one-year working experience in a retail management role, with demonstrated experience in team supervision and daily store operations; experience in fuel station, convenience store or automotive retail management is highly regarded.
* Strong financial acumen with hands‐on experience in store budgeting, cost control and financial performance reporting.
* Excellent leadership, people management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a cohesive retail team.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth.
* Exceptional organisational and problem‐solving abilities, with the capacity to thrive in a fast‐paced retail environment.
* Strong communication skills and proficiency in basic retail management and inventory software.
