We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our team to assist with freight co-ordination and unloading shipping containers. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe handling of materials within our operations.
Your new role
* Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the facility.
* Unload products from shipping containers and manoeuvre the forklift in tight spaces.
* Ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
* Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of forklifts to ensure optimal performance.
* Assist with inventory management, including tracking and documenting the movement of materials.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
What you'll need to succeed
* Valid forklift licence
* Previous experience working with and around shipping containers - is a MUST!
* Proven experience as a forklift operator, preferably in a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to manoeuvre forklifts in tight spaces.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills.
