External Communications Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced External Communications Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will provide primary support for our mayor and councillors in all external communications relating to their Council responsibilities. This will involve working closely with internal stakeholders to plan and manage communications on complex issues, using your excellent writing skills to produce engaging content in a range of formats.
You will be responsible for creating speeches and speaking notes for the Mayor and Councillors, as well as managing the official social media accounts. Your ability to build relationships with a diverse range of personalities, including people in senior positions, will be essential. Experience planning and delivering engaging social media content is highly desirable, as is experience managing media requests and complex issues in a government environment.
The successful applicant will have:
* Extensive experience in journalism and/or a relevant qualification in journalism, communications, media or a related field.
* Demonstrated success liaising with internal and external stakeholders to plan and manage communications on complex issues.
* The ability to produce clear and engaging content in a range of formats.
