Location of workplace: 28 Third Ave, Blacktown NSW 2148
Salary: $77,000 to $80, % Superannuation
Experience required: Minimum 1-2 years' (full-time) experience in relevant role
Mitran Da Dhaba Blacktown is an iconic Indian restaurant located in Blacktown serving Indian cuisine and are looking for a full-time cook to work 38 hours per week.
To be considered for the role, the candidate will need to have relevant industry qualification and minimum 1-2 years' (full-time) experience in a similar position.
The ideal candidate must think innovatively and can create new menus and specials.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Preparing for service and cooking dishes as per the menu and recipes provided
•Monitoring quality of dishes and portion meals appropriately as per company guidelines
•Excellent food presentation skills
•Ability to cater as per cultural and special dietary needs of customers
•Communicate effectively with floor and other kitchen staff
•Receive food and store food at ideal temperatures
•Assist chef in ordering food supplies
•Estimate food requirements as per forecasted usage
•Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment
•Assist chef in planning menus
•Minimise food wastage
•Liaise with managers and other staff regarding food preparation issues
•Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards, ensuring safe working practise is always adhered to
•Instruct and train junior kitchen staff
•Ensure suggestions or enquiries by guests are dealt with in accordance with company policies
Skills & Qualifications required for the position:
•Have a minimum of 1-2 years' full-time work experience as a cook
•Ability to work under pressure
•Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards
•Have Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
