Product Software Engineer/ Architect - Loan Origination

Your new role
- Product Engineer - 12-month contract responsible for configuring and extending a cloud-hosted loan origination and management platform.
- You will convert business requirements into platform configuration, product definitions, application flows and fulfilment automation.
- Lead client-facing workshops, elicit technical requirements, produce implementation tasks and guide acceptance testing through go-live.
- Own decision-engine setup including scorecards, pricing-for-risk, policy rules and any manual-override workflows.
- Implement and validate integrations with credit bureaux, open banking feeds, accounting systems and external communication channels.
- Work in a hybrid model from Sydney, attending on-site sessions for core client engagements, sprint planning and critical deployments.
What you'll need to succeed
- A strong development background is essential, with demonstrable hands-on experience building, customising or integrating enterprise software.
- Circa 10 years + relevant Australian experience in lending or financial technology projects.
- Proven experience configuring loan origination systems or comparable loan management platforms is strongly preferred.
- Advanced SQL ability for complex queries, reporting and integration troubleshooting.
- Solid engineering experience with Java and JavaScript for backend and integration work.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML and iOS native components for client-facing elements.
- Comfortable writing, reviewing and testing code, and able to work through API integrations and deployment tasks.
- Experience with cloud-hosted, multi-tenant SaaS architectures, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing is advantageous.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to run workshops and translate technical detail into business outcomes.
