Senior Mechanical Designer
Key Responsibilities
* Design mechanical concepts for bulk materials, crushing, screening, conveying and process systems based on project requirements.
* Produce 3D models of mechanical systems for manufacturing.
* Document and review mechanical design packages including GA layouts, mechanical, fabrication and machining drawings, and BOMs.
* Prepare P&IDs (mechanically oriented) and interface with electrical teams.
* Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams.
* Participate in layout reviews, HAZOPs, SiD workshops, and vendor meetings.
* Provide design support during fabrication, site installation, and commissioning.
Qualifications
* 8+ years experience as a Mechanical Designer.
* Mechanical design experience within industrial plants, bulk materials handling plants or complex mechanical environments.
* In depth understanding of engineering principles to effectively resolve design challenges in a timely manner.
* High-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
* Understanding of Australian Standards, industry regulations and HSE practices.
* Ability to work under pressure with fast-paced EPC schedules.
* The ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment.
* Keen eye for detail and a systematic approach to producing deliverables.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
