The Opportunity
We are seeking a Cook to join our Patient Catering Team at Figtree Private Hospital! This role involves delivering high-quality hospital food for patients, staff, doctors, and hospital functions, while maintaining cleanliness according to our Food Safety Plan, HACCP standards, and hospital policy. During periods of low occupancy, you may also work across other food production disciplines such as Chef, Chef Assistant, or Breakfast Cook. This position offers a more relaxed environment with predictable patient numbers and a set menu, primarily weekday shifts with no late nights.
Your Duties Will Include
Food preparation, cooking, and service of meals; catering for meetings and events
Plating of meals
Ensuring timely purchase, delivery, storage, preparation, cooking, and presentation of food and beverages to patients
This role is mainly Monday to Friday with no late finishes.
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will have prior experience in a similar role, a passion for culinary arts, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle high-volume catering. We seek an all-rounder cook.
You Will Also Need
Experience as a Cook in a large-scale environment
Effective communication skills
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
HACCP training and hygiene standards commitment
Teamwork and independence
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Housekeeping experience in healthcare (highly desirable)
Understanding of OHS and safe work practices
Remuneration
Hourly salary starting at $29.08 plus superannuation, based on experience and qualifications, excluding penalties or allowances.
