Your new role
Sitting within a specialised trade and mobility policy team, you will lead end‑to‑end management of a priority grants program while also overseeing procurement activities for the section.
Key responsibilities include:
* Grant Program Design: Develop and implement grant program frameworks, eligibility criteria and assessment methodologies.
* Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead negotiation of grant agreements and oversee the full lifecycle from award through to completion and acquittal.
* Grant Administration: Manage reporting, financial tracking, milestones, compliance and program documentation.
* Monitoring & Reporting: Track deliverables, identify risks, and prepare clear, timely advice and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with applicants, grantees, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Procurement Management: Plan and deliver procurement activities in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules, including market approaches, evaluations and contract establishment.
* Continuous Improvement: Evaluate program and procurement outcomes, identifying lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
* Additional Support: Assist with broader section priorities as needed.
What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will bring:
* Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and managing grants programs and/or procurement processes.
* Strong judgement, initiative and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Highly effective organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefs and program documentation.
* A commitment to professionalism, integrity and APS values.
* NV1 or NV2 security clearance (mandatory).
