Mabel Park State High School is seeking applications for a dedicated Community Education Counsellor (Identified) to join their school community on a temporary full-time basis, until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.
As the Community Education Counsellor (Identified), you will:
* Provide educational counselling and support services within schools to ensure the best assistance services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families, and communities.
* Provide cross-cultural awareness training to the broader school community.

About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Providing educational counselling and support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students across multiple schools.
* Developing activities to enhance educational involvement of Indigenous students and their families.
* Creating support programs tailored to meet the needs of students, encouraging participation.
* Establishing links with external support services to assist Indigenous students.
* Sharing social and cultural perspectives with the school community.
Mandatory Requirements for an Identified Role:
This role requires the successful applicant to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, as defined by Section 7 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. Verification of heritage may be required.
Applicants may need to provide proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage to confirm eligibility.
