We're looking for a Country Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand while helping evolve our systems, insights, and processes for a modern workforce.
What You'll Do
* Lead end‐to‐end payroll operations across Australia and oversight of New Zealand (via outsourced provider)
* Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely processing of payroll, benefits, and statutory obligations
* Act as the key escalation point and trusted advisor on payroll matters
Compliance, Governance & Risk
* Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation/KiwiSaver requirements
* Maintain strong governance, audit readiness, and data integrity frameworks
* Stay ahead of legislative changes and proactively manage risk
Systems, Data & Continuous Improvement
* Drive enhancements across payroll systems and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
* Leverage data, automation, and reporting tools to optimise performance and accuracy
* Partner with HR and Finance to enable seamless system integration and smarter decision‐making
Reporting & Insights
* Deliver payroll analytics, workforce metrics, and regulatory reporting (including WGEA)
* Monitor KPIs and identify trends to support business insights and planning
Employee Benefits
* Lead the delivery and evolution of employee benefits programs
* Enhance employee understanding and engagement through clear communication and initiatives
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
* Lead and develop a Senior Payroll Officer
* Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, vendors, and regulators to ensure effective outcomes
* Manage relationships with external providers and government bodies
What You Bring
* 7+ years of Australian payroll experience, including leadership experience
* Deep knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, super, and compliance requirements
* Experience with payroll systems (e.g. SAP, ADP, Workday, iChris or similar)
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
* Proven ability to improve processes and drive operational efficiency
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
