We are seeking a passionate and skilled Provisional Psychologist and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in a full-time, permanent role based in the Brisbane area.

This position offers flexibility to work across one or more of our locations, with opportunities to balance clinical psychological support, behaviour support, and collaborative practice.

This unique dual role is ideal for someone looking to build depth in both psychological practice and NDIS-aligned positive behaviour support, while making a meaningful impact in the lives of people with disability.

About the Role
This role will be split between Provisional Psychology services and Positive Behaviour Support Practice, delivering high-level, evidence-based clinical psychological and behaviour support services to people with disabilities, their families, and support teams.

You will apply contemporary psychology and disability literature to develop cognitive assessments, functional behaviour assessments, PBS plans, and evidence-based interventions, while supporting teams through training, coaching, and data-informed decision-making. The role contributes directly to improving social, emotional, cognitive, functional, and quality-of-life outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

* As a member of the multidisciplinary team, deliver contemporary high level clinical psychology services that are based on valid and reliable evidence and are in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards
* Provide discipline specific guidance and quality assurance, including consultation liaison and the provision of clinical advice on treatment plans and management of customers who may be exhibiting challenging behaviours, to other practitioners and members within the service.
* Provision of appropriate assessment, treatment, risk management and collaborative care planning to customers and their families/carers/support team.
* Provision of psychological screening and assessment (including the use of specialised psychological measures such as self-report rating scales, personality inventories, intellectual, cognitive and capacity assessment) to assist with diagnosis, formulation and treatment.
* Delivery of evidence-based interventions, including the willingness to develop and provide individual and group based life skills programs and/or therapeutic programs (for example utilising frameworks related to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) under the supervision of the senior psychologist.
* Utilise effective communication skills to work cooperatively and effectively with customers and carers; the multidisciplinary team; other Health Practitioners, government and non-government support agencies and Allied Health Practitioners.
* Engage in varied and appropriate inter-sectoral linking and liaison with relevant stakeholders and partnerships, including communication and interpretation of clinical information to secure the service needs of customers.
* Meeting clinical, operational, legal, performance and reporting requirements, including participation in tribunals and compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.

About You
You are a values-driven psychologist and practitioner who is committed to ethical, evidence-based practice and improving outcomes for people with disability. You bring a strong understanding of NDIS frameworks, behaviour support, and psychology, along with the resilience and communication skills needed to work in complex and emotionally charged environments.

You thrive in a collaborative setting and are motivated to grow professionally through supervision, reflective practice, and continuous learning.

You will bring:

* Strong knowledge of functional behavioural assessment, PBS frameworks, restrictive practices legislation, and evidence-based interventions.
* High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting stakeholders in complex situations.
* Demonstrated ability to analyse data, solve problems systematically, and translate insights into practical, measurable outcomes.

What Do You Need to Apply?

* Degree qualified in psychology, allied health, or social and behavioural sciences (or minimum 3 years' experience and currently working towards).
* Provisional Psychologist registration with AHPRA.
* Registered PBS Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (required before commencement, we can help).
* Evidence of practitioner status at Core or Proficient level or working towards.
* Commitment to professional supervision and maintaining all required registrations and accreditations.
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card) - or willingness to obtain
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card) - or willingness to obtain
* NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate (or willingness to complete via the NDIS Commission portal)
