Digital storyteller and content creator - remote / work from home (melbourne)

Melbourne
Renew Australia
Posted: 6 October
Offer description

- Seeking a Digital Storyteller and Content creator (Part time, 15 hrs/week)

We’re on the lookout for a creative Digital Storyteller and Content Creator to help grow Renew’s online presence and community. If you love crafting content that’s engaging, accessible, and inspiring and you’re excited about making sustainable living the norm, this could be the role for you.

You’ll be creating digital content that amplifies our mission, supports membership growth, and strengthens the connections we have with our community. You’ll work closely with our small team to manage social media channels, create multimedia content, and contribute to campaigns and community engagement that enable more Australians to live sustainably.

The role is part-time (0.4 FTE) with flexibility around when you work those hours. As a team we work remotely / from home, but if you’re based in Melbourne there’ll be opportunities to regularly catch up with the team in person.

This is a 12 month role with the likelihood of extension.

What you’ll be doing

- Building and delivering strategies to grow our reach, engagement, and impact across digital platforms.
- Planning, writing, designing, and scheduling content (social media, newsletters, etc.) that showcases Renew’s work, campaigns, and publications.
- Producing multimedia content—short videos, reels, graphics, stories—tailored for different audiences.
- Tracking social trends, conversations, and analytics, and refining strategies to maximise performance.
- Working with the team on integrated campaigns for membership, fundraising and advocacy.
- Producing monthly reports on engagement and digital performance.
- Ensuring all digital content reflects Renew’s brand voice and values.

About you

We’d love to hear from you if you’re creative, organised, and passionate about sustainability. You’ve got fresh ideas for digital storytelling and the technical know-how to make them happen.

You’ll bring:

- Experience running social media for an organisation, campaign, or brand.
- Good knowledge of sustainability and climate change issues.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to switch up your tone and style depending on the channel.
- Experience running an engaging and impactful e-newsletter program.
- Skills in creating multimedia content (graphics, reels, video editing—using tools like Canva, Adobe, CapCut or similar).
- An understanding of digital analytics and how to report on engagement.
- Solid organisational skills, the capacity to work independently and show leadership, and to collaborate closely with others in a small team.

Bonus points if you also have:
- Experience working in a membership-based or not-for-profit organisation.
- Knowledge of content management systems (like WordPress).
- Familiarity with SEO and e-newsletter platforms.

Additional benefits
- Annual leave loading of 17.5%
- Paid Christmas closure.
- Flexible work practices.
