About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef Manager to lead our kitchen and catering service in one of our care homes.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Catering Assistants to deliver high-quality meals that meet the needs and preferences of our residents.
The successful candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage a budget and lead a team.

* Main Responsibilities:
* Run an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for the residents of the care home
* Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to ensure all activities and events are appropriately planned and catered for
* Ensure any specialist resident dietary requirements are met (e.g. diabetes, weight loss or gain)
* Prepare the main dishes for lunch and dinner
* Oversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods, including vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rolls
* Ensure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilizing seasonal produce
* Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation
* Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies
* Complete paperwork promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes
* Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff - this includes changes to processes or resident requirements, introduction to new equipment safety or environmental regulations
Requirements:
* Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential
* Aged Care / Hotel/Restaurant experience preferred
* Ideally you would have previous experience in a similar role
* Effective time management, organisational skills and budget management
* Previous experience in leading a team is desirable and managing a budget
* Understanding of Food Audits
* Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team and ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders
* Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus
