About the Casual Teaching Community

The Casual Teaching Community is open for eligible candidates to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) for casual employment with Western Sydney University (WSU). The Casual Teaching Community enables the School to access suitable and experienced individuals for casual employment opportunities across a broad range of business areas at short notice, subject to the following:

* You will be engaged as and when required, and on an ad hoc and/or intermittent basis. The University does not guarantee the provision of ongoing or regular employment, and makes no firm advance commitment to continuing or indefinite work.
* Your application is not a guarantee that an offer of casual employment will be made.
* You will only be contacted regarding your application if an opportunity arises that matches your skills and experience.

The Opportunity

The School of Arts, WSU, invites expressions of interest from people who are interested in casual academic work which will involve lectures, tutorials, workshops and marking in the Master of Creative Music Therapy program. This may include work within the Music Therapy Knowledge, Skills or Applied Knowledge and Skills Subjects. We invite applications from candidates with teaching expertise in one or more of our program areas for inclusion in our eligibility list. The Bachelor of Music is offered on the Penrith campus. Eligibility
* A postgraduate qualification (Masters or Doctoral degree) in Music Therapy
* Current registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association, as an RMT
* Demonstrated experience in working as an RMT practitioner
* Recent and relevant teaching experience at Masters level and/or evidence of teaching capability, including ability to facilitate learning in small and large groups, and experience the use of e-learning methods
* Demonstrated experience in supervising students undertaking placements and/or evidence of supervision capability
* Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment
