The Opportunity
Due to continued growth in the team, we are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to support our New Build division to coordinate design documentation for projects and advise on the technical items to support successful design management related to time, cost quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the appointments of design consultants by assessing submissions against criteria and manage the administration of the professional services agreements or novation agreements.
• Work with consultants to document the design options and to ensure compliance with the overall project scope with associated quality documentation and certifications.
• Encourage innovative design options that meet safety in design requirements, building codes, value engineering solutions and value for money.
• Coordinate activities related to design completion metrics and project milestones and raising any technical issues that impact buildability, procurement, resources, safety, or cost through the design review process.
• Contribute to the project planning, sequencing and coordination activities related to design management, understanding the impact on project activities.
• Coordinate drawing, specification, and construction documentation production, review, and issue.
• Manage the briefings and production of relevant documentation for authority and utility interactions across the project lifecycle from masterplan, DA and CC preparation.
• Support the design management process from DA submission through to full construction documentation and work with the project team to review and approve design throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and highlight key risks and opportunities in all aspects of the project design to ensure there is ample time to resolve issues and maximise opportunities as they relate to project efficiencies, quality, safety and commercial outcomes.
• Work with subcontractors and consultants to ensure that design documentation is progressed effectively and meets client, safety in design, development consent requirements and the project budget.
• Coordinate design outputs to enable delivery of approved design documentation through engagement with the project team and design consultants that meets construction procurement and program.
• Ability to build strong trusted relationships at all levels of the business and with external stakeholders.
* A sound understanding of Green Star and NABERs certifications
* Knowledge of relevant Building Codes, Design Standards and contractual requirements Education / Experience
• Demonstrated experience of Engineering or Design roles on construction projects with proven success.
• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Design or a related discipline.
