An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Farm Hand to join a historic, privately owned property with modern infrastructure. Located just north of Toodyay in Western Australia's picturesque Avon Valley—approximately one hour from Perth.
This farm is part of a contract share-cropping operation, as such the successful applicant will undertake a broad range of day-to-day farming duties, with a strong focus on livestock management (sheep). There is also potential for career progression, including future transition into a Farm Manager role for the right applicant.
We are seeking a motivated and capable individual who demonstrates initiative, strong time management, and a high standard of personal and professional presentation. The ideal candidate will be organised, forward-thinking, and able to work both independently and efficiently, with the ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and maintain a diligent work ethic.
This is a residential role, with a preference for the successful applicant to live on-site in a private (non-shared) cottage, included as part of the salary package (utilities included).
A school bus service operates from the front gate to the local junior high school (K–10).
We are looking for a friendly, honest, and reliable individual with a genuine interest in agriculture and a clear understanding of the responsibilities associated with farm employment.
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Demonstrate strong sheep husbandry skills, including supplementary feeding and paddock fencing (essential)
* Be mechanically minded, with experience operating a range of farm machinery (MC licence preferred but not essential)
* Possess fabrication and/or engineering skills (advantageous)
* Be physically fit and capable of working in a labour-intensive environment across a wide range of farming duties
* Have good listening skills, follow instructions effectively, and be willing to learn quickly
* Maintain accurate and thorough record keeping
* Communicate essential stock and paddock information to the Farm Manager
* Show consistent diligence toward Occupational Health & Safety requirements
* Treat all staff, families, contractors, and share-cropping personnel with respect
Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia already in place.
We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
