The Senior Policy Specialist will be responsible for developing advice on public policy strategy; and play a role in developing advocacy strategies and community engagement outcomes on these issues. Reporting to our General Manager Advocacy & Government Relations, this permanent part-time role (22.8 hours per week) will work closely with key external and internal stakeholders to deliver a member centric and balanced approach to policy development.
Successful candidates will have:
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or significant demonstrable experience (7 or more years) in a similar position.
* Outstanding research skills including the ability to analyse, synthesise and summarise complex information from a range of sources and develop policy recommendations.
* Experience developing and interpreting policy, analysing data and information, preparing and reviewing policy papers, reports, presentations, briefings and correspondence.
* Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the evaluation of problems from multiple perspectives and implementation of effective solutions.
* An understanding of the factors behind behavioural change relating to road safety, transport, or mobility is desirable.
* Strong understanding of the Tasmanian political and legislative landscape.
* Superior written and verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to professionally represent RACT externally.
