The Doxa Youth Foundation is a community-based organisation that was established in 1972. We offer a range of programs to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children and young people across Victoria. We have a particular focus on providing camping programs and assisting young people to succeed in their studies and the workforce.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a reliable Casual Kitchen Hand to join our friendly team at a school camp in Central Victoria. You’ll work in supporting meal service for school groups, with a strong focus on hygiene, teamwork, and service.
Key responsibilities
* Support the Catering Coordinator with day-to-day kitchen operations and meal service.
* Food preparation support
* Dishwashing and cleaning duties across kitchen, dining, and service areas.
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen
* Assist with stock rotation and storage, including putting deliveries away where required.
* Work collaboratively with kitchen and camp staff to meet service timelines.
Shifts & hours
This is a casual position with regular evening shifts. You’ll be available to work two evenings per week, finishing at 8:00pm. Additional shifts may be offered during peak camp periods.
ABOUT YOU
* Experience in a commercial kitchen, catering, cleaning, or hospitality is preferred (training provided for the right person).
* Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
* Ability to follow instructions, work to timelines, and pitch in as needed.
* Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and food handling standards.
* Physically capable of standing for long periods and completing manual tasks (including dishwashing and lifting).
* Availability to work evenings to 8:00pm twice per week
* Capacity to work some weekends.
* A current Victorian Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain) is required.
