$2000 per day Travel and accommodation provided MMM7 Location The Position: This is an exciting locum opportunity with a highly rated Aboriginal Medical Service that provides culturally appropriate Primary Health Care to support the health and wellbeing of the community. You will work alongside a dedicated team of GPs, Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners/Workers, Midwives, Allied Health professionals, visiting Medical Specialists, and Administration staff. The clinic uses Communicare software and operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no emergency department, on-call, or weekend work required. The Location: Mornington Island is a remote, culturally rich island located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, off the coast of northern Queensland. It is part of the Wellesley Islands group and is home to the Lardil, Yangkaal, and Gangalidda people. The island offers a unique and vibrant cultural experience, with traditional art, music, and ceremonies deeply rooted in the community’s heritage. The island’s landscapes are a blend of mangrove swamps, saltwater lagoons, and beautiful beaches, making it a haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Mornington Island is also known for its close-knit community, where local services, including healthcare, education, and community support, play a vital role.
