Senior Pharmacist - Cancer Services Clinical Lead

Salary: HSO Level P3 $135,972 - $140,644 per annum

This is a Full-Time Permanent appointment contracted to work 76 hours per fortnight. EMHS is committed to ensuring that our services are delivered by people who are representative of the diverse communities we assist.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the health service. If the successful applicant declines or vacates the advertised vacancy, the next most suitable applicant may be selected from this process. Both options remain valid for twelve (12) months from the date the recruitment decision is endorsed by the authorised delegate.

Position Profile

The Cancer Services Clinical Lead manages a team of Senior Pharmacists to ensure that optimal Clinical Pharmacy services are provided to Cancer Services, encompassing Haematology and Oncology, at a specialised level of practice. Provides development and training to team members. As part of a multidisciplinary team, promotes safe, rational and cost-effective drug therapy by providing and coordinating Clinical Pharmacy Services which include monitoring the patient's total medication profile, providing drug information and undertaking teaching and research. Practices as a Senior Pharmacist and ensures practice is in accordance with the Pharmacy Board of Australia Registration Standards, the Pharmacy Board of Australia Codes and Guidelines including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct for Registered Health Practitioners and EMHS policies and guidelines.

The East Metropolitan Health Service comprises an extensive hospital and health service network that aims to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of more than 670,000 Western Australians in its catchment area. Our hospital network provides a combination of tertiary, secondary and specialist health care services including emergency and critical care, state trauma, elective and emergency surgery, general medical, mental health, inpatient and outpatient services, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women's, children's and neonates services. The EMHS consists of Royal Perth Hospital; Armadale Health Service; Bentley Health Service; Kalamunda Hospital; St John of God Midland Public Hospital and a range of community and population health services. Royal Perth Hospital is Perth's inner-city, tertiary adult hospital and part of the Royal Perth Bentley Group. It is home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service and offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. It is also a premier teaching hospital and contributes to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care.
