The Australian Bureau of Meteorology's National Security and Space Program are seeking two motivated people who can enhance the Bureau's Defence and broader Australian government national security relationships.
**Defence Capability Lead**
The successful person will seek opportunities to expand the support provided to Department of Defence (Defence) and accelerate the transition of emergent products and services to Defence beneficiaries. The Defence Capability Lead will use their understanding of Defence to ensure that Bureau services are aligned to maximise value to all areas of Defence.
The role requires a self-motivated and resilient person who can maintain an understanding of Defence needs and planning processes at all levels and align those needs to Bureau capabilities. The preferred applicant will be an individual who enjoys exploring what is possible, is energised by new opportunities, and has aptitude for communicating meteorology knowledge elicited from technical experts to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) planners, and Defence policy makers and capability acquisition specialists
**National Security Capability Lead**
The role requires a good understanding of Australia's national and regional security posture and is expected to develop a strong understanding of each organisations' operational needs and planning processes.
The successful person will identify opportunities within the national security sector, have experience in interpreting and leveraging technical capabilities for customer-focused outcomes and possess an appreciation of the interplay between climate and weather and the risks to Australia's national security.
