Building Designer / Architectural Draftsperson / Architectural Technician
About the Role
Our client from Brisbane North Australia is looking for an experienced Building Designer, Architectural Draftsperson, or Architectural Technician to join their growing team. The client primarily focuses on residential construction (new homes and renovations). Their services are in high demand nationwide, with clients across all states of Australia.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed architectural drawings and documentation using REVIT for residential projects, including current builds and renovations
- Collaborate with clients, builders, and consultants to ensure project requirements are met
- Liaise with team members to ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of drawings and specifications
- Ensure that designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations
- Conduct site visits as needed to inspect and coordinate construction progress
- Provide supervision and mentoring to junior team members when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Civil Engineering or relevant field
- A minimum of 5 years experience in residential drafting and/or design
- Strong knowledge of residential construction processes and methods
- Proficiency in REVIT is essential
- Familiarity with building codes and standards (an advantage)
- Ability to manage and mentor junior team members effectively
- A positive attitude, creative mindset, and eagerness to learn and contribute to the team
