Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the execution of our organisation's social policy and advocacy agenda.
* Conduct research and policy analysis to inform timely advice and submissions.
* Develop accessible, well-informed policy positions and campaign responses.
* Monitor government consultations, legislative changes and sector developments.
* Collaborate with colleagues, external organisations and media to design and deliver impactful advocacy campaigns.
* Support stakeholder engagement and maintain strategic partnerships across government, sector bodies and community.
Essential Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in public policy, social sciences or related field.
* Proven experience in policy development and/or advocacy campaigns, preferably in human services.
* Strong understanding of government and parliamentary processes.
* Exceptional research, analytical, writing and communication skills.
* Able to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience managing projects and reporting on outcomes.
Additional Information:
The role can be based in Newcastle or Sydney with occasional travel required.
