About The Team
Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About The Opportunity
Contribute to the Interstate Business achieving its corporate and business objectives by assisting in the development of safe signals asset management strategies and the management of signalling performance across the Interstate Network, ensuring that risks to rail safety and operations are maintained at acceptable levels.
* Participate in the delivery of stakeholder, customer and ARTC strategic objectives.
* Establish asset management priorities in conjunction with corridor and team based priorities and local asset management information.
* Develop and demonstrate Innovative strategies for the signaling works within the 10 Year Asset Management Plan and the Annual Works Plan in alignment with corporate objectives.
* Preparation of signaling strategic asset management plans, and projects that sit within the Annual Works Program and Capital Work Plans.
* Review, enhance and modify asset management systems to improve asset management and analysis
* Review annual asset performance and condition assessments, defects, project proposals, fault management and develop asset management and enhanced maintenance strategies.
* Participate and assist in the identification, analysis, development and implementation of innovative solutions for infrastructure impacts, and improvement in asset capacity, asset availability and asset reliability.
* Review performance and outcomes of the contracted work activities as they relate to achieving the asset strategies and meeting the objectives of the asset management plans.
What do we want from you?
Essential Selection Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications in engineering and management or an appropriate discipline and/or relevant industry experience.
* Highly developed negotiation, influencing, analytical, problem resolution, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
* Current Class C driver's licence.
* Medium to advanced computer literacy (internet, MS Office applications, database management, document control).
Desirable Selection Criteria
* Proven experience in signaling infrastructure maintenance management
* ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as per Signals Competency Assessment.
* Experience in maintenance work on a densely operated railway network.
* Proven and extensive experience in a railway and/or engineering environment.
* First Aid Training.
* Competency in RIW Safe working / Track Protection
* Knowledge of:
* Australian Standards for track infrastructure including the railway National Code of Practice.
* Railway safe working systems, principles and audit requirements.
* AS 4292.
