As the Director of the Office of the Deputy Director-General, Infrastructure Services Division, you will lead a high-performing dynamic team providing strategic advice and leadership in managing critical functions across the division such as Cabinet and parliamentary processes, ministerial briefings and communication activities.
This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a deep understanding of government operations, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex processes in a fast-paced environment.
You will have strong professional networks, excellent communication and negotiation skills and the leadership capability to get things done.
About Us
Across more than 1,260 state schools, 36,000 learning spaces, 24 outdoor and environmental education centres, and 176 early childhood facilities, the Infrastructure Services Division is responsible for building, maintaining, improving and renewing education infrastructure across Queensland.The Office of the Deputy Director-General helps drives the delivery of division's top priorities and is a critical interface with internal and external stakeholders.
Working collaboratively across the department and internal to the division to realise operational and strategic priorities, the Office is the engine room when it comes to addressing complex challenges and removing barriers to achieve outcomes-always on the look out for better ways to do business
The Opportunity
In this role, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and undertaking the following key tasks:
Lead and manage strategic advice in relation to executive processes and documentation required to ensure the division's strategic direction and goals are met.
Lead and coordinate the provision of strategic information and advice to the Deputy Director-General and senior executives of the division and department.
Prepare and have oversight of high level submissions, reports, papers, media statements, briefings and correspondence on complex issues related to delivery of education infrastructure.
Respond to and coordinate responses to complex and sensitive issues from the Office of the Minister, Director-General and other high level areas.
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures in relation to communication, governance arrangements, research and projects.
Foster collaborative relationships across the department and with stakeholders in other government agencies and external organisations.
Lead, manage and develop a team of professional staff to deliver outcomes consistent with organisational directives.
Establish internal and external networks and liaise with senior officers and representatives in a range of government and non-government agencies for the development and identification of implications of initiatives.

Knowledge of contemporary infrastructure service functions within a large and complex organisation is beneficial.
An effective, confident communicator is required, who can demonstrate interpersonal flexibility, initiative, innovation, perseverance and integrity.
You will work with a sense of urgency, in a professional and enthusiastic manner, with a positive participative attitude to achieve the department's goals and objectives.
As this vacancy involves regular school visits it is a requirement to possess a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services and have a current driver's licence
