Chief Engineer Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance and operation of engineering systems on our 35m yacht based in Cairns, Australia.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical expertise across all onboard systems, be proactive, and solutions-oriented.
About the Role
* Evaluate and implement maintenance schedules to ensure safe and efficient operation of propulsion, generators, fuel systems, HVAC, watermakers, hydraulics, refrigeration, and hotel services.
* Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
* Oversee inventory control of critical spares, coordinate procurement of parts, and provide technical support as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, technical documentation, and safety procedures in accordance with flag state requirements.
About You
* Hold a valid STCW95/COST certificate.
* Hold AMSA MED 1 or Y4 certification.
* Prior experience as Chief Engineer or sole engineer on vessels of similar size and complexity is essential.
* Have a high level of autonomy, attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve under pressure.
* Australian working rights are required.
